Most writing about smart locks is produced by people who have never fitted one. Specifications get copied between sites, scores get assigned to products nobody has held, and the things that actually determine whether a lock is any good — whether it suits your door, where the gateway has to go, what happens when the battery dies — go unmentioned because they only surface during an installation.
This site is written from the other end: by people who fit these locks, configure them, and get the phone call when something isn't working.
Who writes it
Pieces are published under the SmartLocksUK editorial byline. We do not invent author personas, and we do not attribute work to people who do not exist — a fabricated reviewer on a page assessing products is the same problem as a fabricated review.
How it is funded
SmartLocksUK is a trading name of Henry Dennis, who also runs a smart lock installation business in the Northwest of England. That is where the hands-on experience behind these pieces comes from, and you should know it when you read them.
